The one to my right has been worked by the same person for over 30 years:
A guy took up plot 26A below me at the same time as I started plot 26, as they used to be worked as one by the previous tenant.
I’ve got my name first on the waiting list should he wish to give it up, and wished now that I’d taken both last year. Realistically though, it would have been too much to cope with all at once, but now I’m established, I’ve a hankering for more space for fruit trees, and permanent fruit bus beds- not to mention HWDD’s favourite- Rhubarb!

Thanks for the Tomato tips... you're a star. I've just been to garden action and will follow that advice. I'm hardly going to have any leaves left after this!
I'm just a bit concerned that it's going to spread to my courgettes and un-tainted tomatoes. They're already looking a bit susceptable and I've been handling them in the same session. Oh er...

It's a bit deprseeing being surrounded by weedy plots....one year's seeding, seven years weeding. I have a weedy one alongside mine, but not as bad as those...!
Here allotments are so scarce and there's such a long waiting list that there are strict rules about keeping them cultivated. If you don't work them regularly, you're kicked out. I don't think your neighbours would have got past the first month ....
Amazing how plots can be so contrasting!
