Our parsnips were at least as twisty, and much smaller, but they taste fine - is it horrible because it's woody? What a shame after growing such a monster, not to get a good meal out of it!
we need to pull ours up as the flavour's starting to go. i know you're supposed to be able to leave them in the ground but ours aren't staying in any longer!

Massive! But what a shame it was horrible, too tough I'm guessing. Most of my parsnips had roots like this, but a bit more twisted.

What a shame!
Good grief - I'm suprised that didn't get up and walk off.
It looks alive!
I'd be afraid of it grabbing me if I waved a knife near it.
